Over 30 years experience performing for festivals, restaurants, private parties, and on cruise ships. Doug grew up in the mountains of Virginia where he taught himself to play guitar at the age of 6. Along the way he took lessons from many great teachers, including world renown classical guitarist, Andrew York. He graduated from James Madison University in 1989 and began to pursue a career in music, performing solo and with various bands in the Northern Virginia area. He relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1997 where there was an endless supply of "Jimmy Buffett" style gigs. He has since released two CDs, "What I do Best!" and "If This Tree Could Talk". These include cover tunes and original songs of many different genres.
He now lives a happy life in Murrells Inlet with his wife, Shelia, and golden-doodle pup, Lilly. He maintains an active teaching schedule and performs whenever possible.
